How to Become a CRNA

By |2022-08-29T21:52:52+00:00April 21, 2022|Maverick News|

Becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or CRNA, is an official credential that came into existence in the mid-1950s. This position has proven to be a vital part of patient care as patients receive relief before, during, and after medical procedures and in response to chronic pain or injury. The CRNA position has been reviewed to be shown as “safe, high quality, and cost-effective” and is the “most cost-effective model for anesthesia delivery, and there is no measurable difference in the quality of care between CRNAs and other anesthesia providers” according to the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology. Many of Maverick Medical Education’s instructors are CRNAs and practice in their own communities when not teaching with our team. If you are interested in becoming a CRNA, there are a few steps to follow.

We know there are alternatives to pain treatment out there, but not all are the best choice.

Our Cancellation Policy

By |2022-08-30T19:51:38+00:00February 18, 2021|Maverick News|

Maverick Medical Education was founded on the idea of helping medical professionals learn pain relief techniques that will serve their patients and their communities through surgery, medical procedures, injuries, and on-going needs. Rather than holding on to the experience we’ve gained over the years through our own research, training, and practice, we have built a team that is devoted to teaching as many others as we can, knowing we can help patients have better outcomes and healthier lives. This devotion to teaching is just one of the ways our program excels. Combined with our flipped classroom model, with content available immediately upon registration through online modules and hands-on practice during our lab time together, Maverick Medical Education provides quality instruction and support for each of our students.

One may expect to hear agreement that the use of opioids is bad, but the reasoning behind that may not be as well understood. Opioids, even when used on a short term, can have a number of negative side effects that aren’t talked about enough. At Maverick Medical Education, we want medical professionals and the general public to be knowledgeable about what those effects may be.

By |2022-08-30T20:41:34+00:00May 20, 2020|Maverick News|

Drug and narcotic use has a long history through civilization, in recreational terms and in emergent medical fields. During the Civil War in America, opioid usage became standard as field doctors were desperate for ways to relieve pain and ease patients into death as they treated and cared for hundreds of wounded soldiers. An epidemic began as the prescription of opioids increased the reliance on these drugs. According to the Smithsonian, over 10 million opioid pills were prescribed to soldiers on the Union side of the war alone. Pleased with the results shown in relieving pain, doctors began to prescribe opioids, both in pill form and injected subcutaneously, for a variety of maladies including menstrual cramps, morning sickness, anxiety, and dysentery. The use of opioids was prevalent and far-reaching
