We have no doubt that our courses will help you care for the needs of your clinic and patients in a fuller way. Once you decide on a course, or several courses, you can begin learning immediately. However, there are a few tips and tricks to prepare for one of our Maverick Medical Education courses, both remotely and in person.
Online PreLearning
Continuing Education is vital for all fields, but especially in the medical profession. Courses offer the opportunity to learn new advancements, new techniques, and new ways to help the patients and families we serve. The Maverick Medical Education model is an ideal fit for those who are seeking to learn more in the courses we offer because of the unique model. Rather than spending days in a classroom, lecturing and minimizing time practicing the techniques you want to learn, we have developed prelearning modules you will have access to as soon as you enroll in one of our courses. These modules are self-paced and contain instructional videos and rich content, paired with checkpoints to test your knowledge along the way. Because these modules are accessible and mobile friendly from any Internet paired device, you can complete the content knowledge in your own time. We do offer support and can answer questions along the way. Once you have the academic side of instruction obtained, you will be ready to begin practice in our labs, honing and refining the skills and techniques our Maverick instructors are ready to teach.
Travel Information
Where you stay will be dependent on which course and location you choose, but all of the labs are held independent of any hotel. We will provide the address of each location for you to better plan car rental or using other private or public transportation services. Our labs begin both Saturday and Sunday morning at 8 am. Sunday afternoon is spent testing or in our open lab until 4 pm. We do recognize that flights and schedules vary, but if there is flexibility in your schedule, we recommend leaving no earlier than 4 pm on Sunday to gain the most practice and repetition with the help of our instructors. In the event you do need to leave before 4 pm, we will work with you to make sure you are leaving for the airport on time.
We will have a light breakfast, lunch, and water both days. If you have specialized dietary needs, it may be helpful to bring your own meals. We recommend wearing scrubs and closed toe, comfortable and supportive shoes. We also recommend bringing a jacket, as the lab area is very cold. We will provide necessary PPE for attendees and are currently checking temperatures, adhering to all social distancing protocols, and requiring hand washing upon entering the building.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that life circumstances occur and you may need to change your schedule. In addition to the other benefits of our prelearning model, this structure allows you to carry over any learning you have already completed to an alternative lab date whenever possible. Due to the high demand of our courses, it would be best for communication to take place as soon as possible if you may be having difficulties in your scheduling, in order for another interested party to have the opportunity to fill your vacancy. If you contact us at least 4 weeks in advance for our Chronic Pain Series Courses or 6 weeks in advance for all other courses, we will be able to offer a partial refund, dependent the scheduled lab date. Due to COVID-19, we have decided that we will work with participants on a case-by-case basis and are waiving rescheduling and cancellation fees through 2020.
Our team of Maverick instructors is excited to work with each of you to learn new techniques or to supplement what you are already diligent with in your field. Learning new ways to help our patients is what brought these courses to reality in the first place and we want to pass that along to others. If you have questions, contact us, or see our course calendar to learn more.
