The Maverick Chronic Pain Series is designed for medical providers currently practicing, starting, or investigating the pain management field. The lack of comprehensive pain education for medical providers and an overwhelming number of patients suffering from chronic pain is the driving force behind the need for this education. Medical providers in pain management must be adequately educated in the physiology, assessment, and diagnosis of pain as well as the variety of treatment options in both the acute and chronic pain settings.

Each course in the Chronic Pain Series includes online didactic modules and a hands-on cadaver lab. The online didactic material is delivered in an interactive and engaging format, with pre-recorded lectures, interactive quizzes, and hands-on exercises designed to prepare the learner for the cadaver lab.

These courses are not a typical “death-by-PowerPoint” lecture. The Maverick online content is designed to be modular, bite-sized, and interactive. The modules are filled with interactive presentations, ultrasound videos, pre & post-tests, knowledge checks, and landmark target practice activities. These modules are asynchronous allowing participants to take the course at their own pace and at their own location.

The modules were developed by practicing CRNAs with many years of experience in the field of regional anesthesia, education experts in the field of Pedagogy from Texas A&M University, and instructional design professions

*Students must complete the online didactic modules before attending the hands-on cadaver lab.

The hands-on cadaver lab will focus on the skill acquisition of fluoroscopy-guided (Basic & Advanced courses) and ultrasound-guided (US course only) pain interventions. Using the latest in education strategies, the lab allows learners numerous repetitions at each station, utilizing cadavers and live models, to achieve a strong level of competency and confidence.

Our Cadavers allow for a realistic feel when performing the injections, as if you were injecting a real patient, and live models provide the opportunity for live scanning and assessment.

Chronic Pain Course Testimonials

I highly recommend Maverick’s Chronic Pain Course Part One. The combination of online modules and hands-on cadaver lab has been incredibly informative. In the first course alone, I learned a great deal about analyzing fluoroscopy images, identifying anatomy, and mastering needling techniques. The instructors are truly exceptional!

Jennifer, CRNA, Illinois

This course is well worth the cost. The knowledge and experience of the instructors is truly fantastic. I will attend the next two programs, and be well on my way to being able to proceed pain services with this foundational knowledge, while attending my fellowship.

Bill, CRNA, Wisconsin

Very helpful course, easy to understand and a must (like the first course) especially for the ones in the NSPM Fellow. I like the fact that I can always come back to the videos and the essence of the information. Many things will be reviewed again in time and to be able to come back to the knowledge gained is awesome ! Thank you Maverick!

Carlos, CRNA, NSPM-C, Texas

I can’t imagine how much work these courses are to put together so thank you for all you do! This is an amazing course.

Anne, CRNA, Idaho

All Maverick Courses and Didactic Sessions have been an Elite learning experience! This particular course with the addition of some of THE BEST CRNAs training the next generation of providers was an amazing experience. I will likely repeat this particular course yearly. Thank you and your team for your investment into the next generation!

Joshua, CRNA, NSPM-C, Missouri

As usual, I never regret signing up for any Maverick course. You guys know how to do it well. Always professional not just on the clinical side but from the administrative side as well. Very grateful to have found you guys and how much you have and will continue to have influence on my practice!

Jeremy, CRNA, NSPM-C, Texas

Gets down to the nitty gritty of US guided injections. Still lots to learn but this was the catalyst that will enable me to succeed.

Antonio, CRNA, NSPM-C, Texas

Excellent hands on course, especially if you are considering pain fellowship or before you start fellowship. I would highly recommend for amount of driving needle time on cadavers.

Jalie

This was a great course from top to bottom. The modules, the mock patients, and the hands-on cadaver experience was all phenomenal. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in doing fluoroscopic injections of the spine because when you finish you will have a great foundation of when and how to do it.
