Continuing Education: What It Is and Why It Is Important

Maverick Medical Education isn’t just passionate about teaching others pain relief methods. With more in the medical industry being taught a variety of solutions, including how to effectively administer nerve blocks, we can help our patients have better outcomes and put them at less risk for addiction. How a Nerve Block Works

Maverick Medical Education is devoted to helping educate medical professionals on forms of pain relief and pain management that do not involve opioid prescriptions. Even those of us in the medical field have had the awkward experience of being handed an ultrasound image of someone’s new baby and having to pause and think about what we may be looking at. The marvel of ultrasound, whether for pregnancies, guiding equipment, or monitoring progression of a medical concern, is clear. We can take a look inside the bodies of our patients with a simple wave of the hand, or, in this case, wand. How do we interpret those images though? 7 Ways to Use Point of Care Ultrasound

When Maverick Medical Education looks for courses to offer to medical professionals around the country, we are considering what may best serve patients and communities. Pain management and relief techniques have always been a part of what drives our educators, but as we saw more and more techniques better performed with ultrasound assistance, we realized that there was a valuable tool in Point of Care Ultrasound, or POCUS, as well. This nimble diagnostic tool can be used in any field and offers medical staff the chance to quickly assess what is taking place inside a patient’s body, with the ability to understand how that patient is progressing throughout their stay. POCUS is versatile in how it can treat and help the patients we serve today and tomorrow.
