We all expect to have pain at different points in our life, but nobody expects to live with pain more often than not. Unfortunately this is the case for a number of people within our community and Maverick Medical Education is committed to training others to assess, diagnose, and treat chronic pain. Our Chronic Pain Series can offer CRNAs vital experience, knowledge, and skills to reduce chronic pain in their clinical settings.
Chronic Pain Series I: Basic Fluoroscopy Guided Injections
The first in our series, Chronic Pain Series I is designed for CRNAs with limited experience in assessing and treating chronic pain. Chronic pain is found in multiple parts of the body so our learning will cover several different areas where pain is commonly experienced by our patients. We will cover assessment, diagnosis, treatment, documentation, and interventions you can use. Additionally, in our lab you will practice steroid injections and nerve blocks on cadavers while having the opportunity to work through an assessment and diagnosis plan on live models. This course offers 34 CE credits for successful completion of the online and lab components.
Chronic Pain Series II: Advanced Fluoroscopy Guided Injections
This course is perfect for those who are already using some basic chronic pain intervention techniques and want to expand or build on those skills. We discuss numerous principles of pain assessment and management along with pharmacology you should be familiar with at this point in your career. Our lab portion is focused on using high fidelity cadavers to practice several techniques including cervical medial branch nerve blocks, thoracic epidural steroid injections, ablation skills, and more. This course offers 28 vital continuing education hours to increase the pain relief you are able to offer your community and setting.
Chronic Pain Series III: Ultrasound Guided Chronic Pain Injections
The Chronic Pain Series III is designed to increase the learning of medical providers who are already experienced in fluoroscopy guided pain interventions and want to add ultrasound guidance. While covering the basics of ultrasound guided techniques, we will also cover a number of major injections like those for the Peripheral nerves, the lumbar facet, the major and minor joints, and more. In addition to these techniques we also discuss business management unique to pain management settings. This course qualifies for 28 total CE hours, 12 for the online didactic program and 16 for the course lab.
