Agility and adaptability are key to any medical practice, including practices that support clinicians specializing in different fields. The needs of people, in this country and around the world, are constantly evolving and will continue to grow in the coming decades. Nowadays, practicing medicine looks different compared to 5 or 10 years ago, and even compared to decades before. At Maverick Medical Education, we aim to be adaptable and agile to meet the needs of those seeking specific skills. That’s why we have created university-based training programs that allow us to reach future Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) where they are already learning.
Anesthesia Programs for Higher Education
We have designed two courses that we offer in the university setting. The first is our Regional Anesthesia Essentials course, which covers ultrasound basics, anatomical lessons on points of reference, needle guidance techniques, and various nerve blocks, including femoral, supraclavicular, and axillary blocks. We also offer our POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) course, which focuses on heart, lung, and stomach function assessment, as well as providing vascular access with ultrasound assistance. These courses provide students with a comprehensive academic understanding of the topics, practical skills related to the topics, and the confidence to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting after graduation.
Our Partnered Programs
We have partnered with several CRNA programs to enhance their nurse anesthesia degree plans. Some of the schools we are currently teaching at include Texas Christian University, Missouri State University, Northwestern State University, and Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia. These programs have the option to include our online didactic program into their curriculum as a supplement or integrate it with hands-on experiences using our patented pulsatile cadavers, live models, and an in-person training experience from our experienced Maverick instructors. We are open to adding more programs and working with schools to create customized programs that better suit their students’ needs.
Maverick Medical Education
In addition to our university-based education programs, Maverick Medical Education offers courses that help future and current CRNAs learn new skills, earn Continuing Education (CE) units, and offer better care to their patients. Our courses follow a flipped classroom model, with online learning available immediately. After completing the online course, full of interactive learning modules, videos, and assessments, our students attend hands-on training to practice and refine their skills, which include using patented pulsatile cadavers and live models with our experienced instructors.
