John M. Edwards III is a CRNA with a focus on acute pain. He received his Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia, in Madison, TN in 2021. In 2018, Dr. Edwards completed the Acute Surgical Pain Management Fellowship from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. Dr. Edwards received his Master of Science in Anesthesia from the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 2002 and his RN/BSN in 1996 from Murray State University.

Dr. Edwards is a Co-Founder of the Thoroughbred Anesthesia Academy. Edwards is also a faculty member and content expert for the Acute Surgical Pain Management Fellowship at Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia.

Dr. Edwards’s focus is on Patient-Centered care oriented Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with strong clinical expertise in all facets of direct patient care and care planning. He is highly skilled in assessing and prioritizing patient needs, devising plans of care, and working with healthcare teams to deliver superior patient care. Accomplished in developing policies and procedures positively affecting patient outcomes hospital-wide. He has developed Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocols for orthopedic, bariatric, breast cancer, colorectal, and general surgery cases that have improved patient outcomes and decreased the length of hospital stay.
