James is a 2010 graduate of Texas Wesleyan University’s Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia. Hailing from Nacogdoches TX, James has worked independently for the majority of his career in Eastern Texas and its surrounding communities. Having always had an interest in regional anesthesia James attended a Maverick course in 2014. From that course he expanded his practice to incorporate a wide range of regional techniques that he incorporates into the large majority of his anesthetics today. In 2018, James and his wife Kendra (also a CRNA) founded Grasshopper Anesthesia Services providing anesthesia management services to Eastern Texas and the surrounding communities. They have since grown to service 15 locations across Texas incorporating regional anesthesia techniques to many of their facilities, and encouraging the providers they work with to incorporate multi-modal and regional anesthetic techniques into their practice. In 2023, Grasshopper Anesthesia purchased Genesis Anesthesia to increase their ability to provide access to quality anesthesia care in Texas. James is also a 2019 graduate of the Texas Christian University Advanced Pain Management Fellowship, and holds the Non-Surgical Pain Management Certification from the NBCRNA. He has since began expanding his practice into treatment for chronic pain patients. James advocates for the CRNA profession as a past President and current member of the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists. (TXANA) He continues to serve on multiple committees with the TXANA and advocates for all CRNAs in Texas. In his spare time likes to spend time with his wife and three children as well as travel, and hunt.
