DNAP, APRN, CRNA
Michelle Stotts, DNAP, APRN, CRNA is an experienced certified registered nurse anesthetist and educator with more than two decades of clinical practice and a specialized focus on regional anesthesia and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). She has been a practicing CRNA since 2002 and spent nearly 20 years as an independent anesthesia provider in a critical access hospital in rural West Virginia, where she developed extensive expertise in delivering high-quality anesthesia care across diverse surgical settings.
Michelle earned her nurse anesthesia degree from CAMC’s School of Nurse Anesthesia in Charleston, West Virginia, in collaboration with Marshall University. She later completed her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) and an Acute Surgical Pain Management Fellowship at the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 2021, further refining her expertise in advanced regional techniques and perioperative pain management.
She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Charleston, where she teaches doctoral-level nurse anesthesia residents in regional anesthesia and POCUS. In this role, she integrates evidence-based practice, ultrasound-guided procedural training, and simulation-based learning to bridge the gap between theory and clinical performance.
Michelle is deeply committed to advancing hands-on education in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and POCUS. Her work centers on empowering anesthesia providers with practical, clinically transferable skills that enhance patient safety, optimize analgesia, and elevate the standard of perioperative care.
